Welcome! I am a part-time photographer (social scientist for the rest of the time, click here or here for more details) based in Amsterdam.

Even though I got my first camera when I was about twelve years of age, only during the past 15 years or so photography became more to me than just a hobby. Especially when I am travelling I take the opportunity to take pictures, most often street scenes. Previously, I used colour slide films (either low sensitivity or 1600 ASA) and Minox cameras - only when circumstances allowed I would take along heavier equipment. Since 2004, however, I mostly use digital pocket cameras; more so than the reflex camera. Some of these recent results can be found on this website (older photographs that I have since scanned are put in the archive).

My photo’s stem from a whole range of locations but I usually find that those that are least location specific are most interesting.
